New Name, New Look, New Site

in

After much fretting, sweating and procrastination BabyFace Software is now BabyFace Interactive with a new look and a new website (and a new blog!).

Is the site done? Well, no. But it'll never be done and it'll never be perfect and if I wait for either, it'll never be published.

I am reminded of the following quote:

“It is not necessary to change. Survival is not mandatory.” - W.E. Deming

And change we will, whether we like it or not.

The new site was long overdue. For those of you familiar with the previous lime green site, go ahead, say it... “What was John thinking?”.

As for the name change, the new name better reflects what we do and what we're about - helping our clients use media to interact and build relationships with their customers. And ultimately, relationship – to ourselves, to others, to the world we live in is all there really is.

This blog is the start of a new page in our ongoing relationship with customers and developers. The customer piece is about extending our offerings to customers and non-customers. Businesses and people interested, curious or befuddled by the web. The developer piece is about opening up to other developers about what we do and how we do it - some teaching, some learning and hopefully, some giving back to the community.

Tomorrow I'm off to DrupalCon this year's US conference for Drupal developers. Drupal is the opensource framework we've been using to develop some of our customers' websites and maybe eventually all of our customers' sites.
